Extensive Listening 2

For this listening assignment, I decided to revisit one of my childhood favorite animated film, "Castle in the Sky" directed by the famous Miyazaki Hayao. This film is around 2 hours long, and I decided to watch the entire movie during my Thanksgiving break. Although I watched this film with subtitles, I was pleased to recognize a few of the phrases in the film. The story revolves around Pazu and Princess Sheeta, who gets caught in a series of events that eventually lead them to the Castle in the Sky. They try to protect the castle from the government, who wants to pillage the rich wealth hidden inside the abandoned castle. The government official, Muska, wanted to use the Castle as a weapon to terrorize the Earth below. Fearing that Muska will get what he wishes, Pazu and Sheeta destroy the castle. Overall I enjoyed this listening activity. I have seen this film when I was younger, but it was still fun to revisit a great fantasy film.

あきやすみのブログのしゅくだい

あきやすみに 日本語の えいがを みました。 えいがの なまえわ もののけ姫です。("Princess Mononoke") Although I watched this animation when I was young, I thought I would give it another view since it's such a good movie. This movie is about 2 hours long. It follows the main protagonist, Ashitaka, and his journey to seek the cure of his wounds. He encounters Princess Mononoke, whom he helps in protecting the forest and the forest-god. This animated movie's central theme is the environment and the dangers of human pollution.  This is a good movie and I recommend it to anyone.
